Dear Generator, why don't you work?

Tonight we're supposed to have high wind warnings, gusts sustained to 55 mph and possible power outages. Now is the time for this whole house backup generator to come into stride. Except we're wondering if it will. We've had the Generac people set the weekly test run on the unit, and each week the unit has not started properly during the test. It starts just fine manually, but the test cycle never gets it going. We've got a call into the installer AGAIN. The whole point of a whole house generator is that it's supposed to start all by itself, not require you to come home and turn it on. Kind of defeats the purpose of it. Oh stand by honey while I run outside during the gail force winds and flip the switch....

What's a generator?

Bill it's a natural gas powered energy supply that powers the entire house if the electricity fails.

Not generator related but...are you a 'super-couponer' in the Jill Cataldo sense? I've had her speak at the library where I work and she tends to have a big following. Great blog by the way. Loved the 'why are you here post'. Well done.

Hi Nina

I am and I'm not! I do a lot of super couponing on occasion, but these big projects have sapped my energy and time these days. I am a regular reader of Couponerswanted and mashupmom. I try to find items that I am personally interested in and post them, but for deal seekers, definitely recommend Jill's and other sites. I did see Jill's session in Mundelein a few years ago and that really got me going! Lately I've been using the blog to keep family and friends informed of what's going on chez nous.
